Converter systems for supplying vessels with electrical energy

We have completed the installation and commisioning of another ship power supply system utilizing our converter desing.
Powering electrical networks of vessels built a few or a dozen years ago, using converters supplied from shaft generators operating at reduced speeds, and thus providing a lower output voltage than the rated one, is becoming increasingly popular among our Clients. Reducing the speed of the main engine is one of the most popular and obvious methods of significantly reducing fuel consumption.
We offer comprehensive design solutions and implementation of such systems on ships, ensuring full integration with the existing power plants. The operation of this type of energy source is fully automated, from the crew’s point of view – simpler than the generator sets.
This time, commisioning work lasted two days and took place in Reykjavik, on the Hav Sund vessel.
